MSSA is Burning Bright for Breast Cancer
On Sunday, October 25th MSSA participated in the 6th Annual Burning Bright for Breast Cancer fundraiser that occured across Ontario as part of a Synchro Ontario event. The fundraiser was run at both Huron Park and Erin Meadows pools and was a great success!
A special thanks goes out to Amanda, one of our 16 & over Provincial swimmers who organized the whole event at both pools!! This included communications, decorations, signs - she did a great job!
Thank you to all the swimmers, their parents, the coaches and to all the volunteers who helped make the event a success.
MISSISSAUGA SYNCHRO HAS THREE MEMBERS NAMED TO PROVINCIAL TEAMS
Three members from the Mississauga Synchronized Swimming Association (MSSA) have been selected to represent Team Ontario this summer. Following two phases of the team selection process Ioana Gheta has been selected to the 12 & Under A Team and Rebecca Damiani to the 13 – 15 B Team. Both Gheta and Damiani will be centralized to train with the top athletes in the province before traveling to California to train and compete with one of the top American clubs. Gheta currently trains with MSSA’s Tier 5 Provincial Team and Damiani with the club’s Tier 6 National Team.
In addition to the athlete selection to Team Ontario, one of MSSA’s coaches was also selected to coach a team. Alanna Harman the club’s Tier 4 and 5 coach has been selected to act as the Assistant Coach for the 12 & Under B Team. Harman will be responsible for coaching at a training camp before traveling with the team to an international event in New York.
Central/North Regionals
Wow, that was an incredible weekend! The Central/North Regionals for 2009 at UTM are over, we did well, and all had a lot of fun. 2009 Waterloo Invitational
Our Tier 1-5 teams were busy at the 2009 Waterloo Invitational on February 7, Way to Go girls! Results and more images from the competition are available.
Fall 2008 Rec Demo Night
On January 25, we were treated to a whole new crop of swimmers showing off their move at our Fall Rec Demo night. Just see for yourself how much fun the girls had!
2009 Provincial Trials
The busy season has started, and our girls are out there making us proud! On the weekend of January 23-25, our Tier 6 girls were competing in the 2009 Provincial Trials competition. Not to be left out of the excitement, our Tier 5 team did the preswim for the competition, and did a really great job. Results and more images of both teams can be found by following the links.
