Burning Bright Update

We have just finished our final tally of the 3rd Annual Burning Bright for Breast Cancer event and we are very proud to say that MSSA raised $3512.00 for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation surpassing last year's total by almost $400.00. We want to thank all the girls and their families who work hard to bring in their pledges on Sunday October 29th.

A special recognition goes out to Michelle Cannon who raised a phenomenal $1033.00. Great Job!!

The event was held at Mississaugašs Huron Park and Erin Meadows pools. This province- wide charity initiative was a collaboration of Synchro Swim Ontario, and individual synchronized swimming clubs across Ontario.

The participants, comprised of over 46 swimmers, carried several "torches" and passed them from swimmer to swimmer in a relay format for one hour. The torches represented the hope that the Œflameš could be kept alive for a future without breast cancer. Bright pink caps were from Gail at Swim & Sport, and the girls all sported "tattoos" with the pink CBCF ribbon, on their smiling faces.

The deck was decorated with pink balloons and pumpkins and the event proved to be a fantastic success. The club coaches, executive, and parents are very proud of their athletes, who have shown such a positive commitment to making a difference in the lives of others in their community.

Special Thanks to all the coaches, swimmers and volunteers that made this event a success.
